So lately, I've been watching a YouTube channel called 'Scammer Payback,' it appeared in my algorithm, and it looked intriguing, so I decided to check it out.
I am the kind of person who always needs to keep my mind running even when I'm doing something else, so I always look for videos or podcasts worthy of watching or listening even in the background, and let me tell you, this is worth watching. I'm not residing in Us, but scam activities occur everywhere, and they prey mostly on the elderly, sadly.
To me, it's amazing because I can imagine the amount of time, effort and skills needed to do what Pierogi does. It drives me crazy enough anytime I have to call for simple online help or inquiries, and I watched this guy trolled scammers for hours, spent time talking to the victims, and even helped them call the banks,
and tried to call multiple organizations to reach the victims and prevent them from being scammed.
It's really impressive, and I really applaud the efforts. It's also extremely satisfying when he managed to get back to the scammers by deleting their files, exposing their identities, getting to warn their potential victims first, and making the scammers squirm. It is also entertaining to see him string through the scammers. On the other hand, it's heartbreaking to see how far those scammers are willing to manipulate the vulnerable victims, regardless of their condition, to get their hard-earned money. They yell, abuse, threaten; there is no limit to what they are willing to do. What despicable pieces of manure. But, that would be an insult to manure.
He is not afraid to confront the scammers and admiringly has the appropriate skills to do so (envy activated). Ironically, those who have the actual power to protect society don't bother to do so. It's infuriating when businesses, banks, authorities do nothing to help the victim or to eradicate these kinds of operations while an individual with his own resources manages to do so much.
In conclusion, all I want to say is, not all heroes wear capes. Some wear headphones, hoodies and cap on top of colorful hair.
P.S. In between binging the videos, I actually was wondering if Mark
Rober's glitterbox can be used as scammer's package, and to my delight, they actually have collaborated!!

P.P.S. Update: Based on the algorithm's suggestions, I have watched a lot more similar videos about efforts to thwart scammers. Shout out to Jim Browning, Scambaiter, Kitboga and Scammer Revolt channels. I am sure there are many more, and I hope they continue to do this for the right reason.
If you are looking for technical and satisfying results in exposing the scammer, go for Jim Browning and Scambaiter. If you are looking for an entertaining way to waste scammer's time, watch Kitboga. And even if I'm not into swearing etc, sometimes I do crave that someone tells those scammers off, as they could be very rude and intimidating, then go for Scammer Revolt.
